Kaisapa is characteristic for traditional Ajarian cuisine; however in Meskheti region you may find a slightly modified version of this dish. Meskheti Kaisapa is made with plum and onions, whereas in Ajarian culinary Kaisapa is a dessert.

Kaisapa is made with dried plum, Tklapi, Ajarian butter Iagi and walnuts.

Preparing Kaisapa was a favorite activity for children, when the smell and aroma of plum, sugar and walnuts would occur the household.
