Kuruti is a special dish of traditional Ajarian cuisine. Its main ingredients are Ajarian Kaimagi and Nadugi.

The origin of Kuruti is related to the following story: Families are living about 5-10 kilometers away from their working land in the high mountainous Ajara. On their way to working place, Kuruti was considered as the best snack, as it’s very filling and easy to transport. Due to the milk product, Kuruti is rich with fats and protein which keeps body energetic and full for the long time.

Locals call Kuruti as “Ajarian Sneakers”.
