Dessert History

In Eastern Georgia grape juice is used for preparing Tatara, where as in Western Georgia it is used to prepare – Phelamushi. The difference is only in the flour: the flour is used in east, and in the West - corn flour.

Phelamushi is a special dessert of Traditional Ajarian cuisine. Its preparation is sort of fest in the family. Phelamushi is essential for New Year Eve’s and any festive tables.

Phelamushi’s sweetness depends on the taste / taste of the cook / family.

According to tradition, Phelamushy is served cold.
